Heartland will serve as a host site for free 2009 tax preparation services for income-qualified families (less than $55,000) and individuals (less than $30,000).
The College's participation is sponsored by the Center for Economic Progress. Services will be offered beginning Friday, January 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays in Room 3602 of the Workforce Development Center.
These hours will be maintained through Tuesday, April 13.
These free tax preparation services are provided by certified volunteer tax preparers on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are asked to bring all tax documents, including W-2s and 1099s (if any), Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers for all family members, a copy of last year's tax return if available, a bank account number and routing number to direct deposit your refund, and a valid photo ID.
Tax services also will be available at the Bloomington Housing Authority and at Bloomington's Mid-Central Community Action sites.
