Good Morning!
Another hot one today! It was 86 degrees when I took the puppy out at 5:45! I have discovered she doesn't like the heat as she goes out and does her thing and runs right back in the house. :o) Then she runs around the house and gets her exercise! She is such a joy! We just love her!
Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Genesis 19:15-29 ~ Lot's wife disobeyed God's direction (17) and it cost her life. When you disobey God's ways, don't be surprised by the consequences
God's directions were quite clear and yet Lot and his wife and daughters hesitated. Do you think they didn't understand the urgency? Then Lot asked to go to the next city and not to the mountains and the angels granted that request. When they got to the small town of Zoar, God began the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. He destroyed everything in the two cities and on the plain by raining sulfur.
Lot's wife did not obey God's directions and looked back. She lost her life for disobedience.
Disobedience brings consequences. Ask my kids! :o)
How will you live your day, your week, your month - your life?

Thursday, June 28th - Genesis 19:1-14
Good Morning!
It's going to be a hot one today! Be sure to keep an eye on the kids and keep them hydrated and out of the heat as much as possible.
Lisa's tweets: LMRMinistries: Genesis 19 ~ Lot's wife and daughters. Lot was a good man in a very bad place. He pleaded with God to save the town - but it was too wicked (19:1-14)
LMRMinistries: Genesis 19:6-8 ~ Lot said WHAT? It was so important to protect these Godly visitors - he was willing to sacrifice his daughters. Are you that devoted?
Sodom and Gamorrah were the worst and so evil. Lot was in a very bad situation. He recognized the men (angels) as they entered the city and insisted that they stay with him and his family. Lot knew what the town was capable of and wanted to protect them. As it happened, the angels protected Lot and told him to leave the city.
Lot's decision to offer his daughters to the men that wanted to have their way with the angels, was devotion to his God. Lot knew who these men were and He would do anything to protect them - even offer his own family. He loved his family, but he loved his God more.
Could you do that? How much do you love Jesus/God?
Stay cool and have a great day!

Wednesday, June 27th - Genesis 38:20-30
Good Morning! Buenas dias! Bom dia!
Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Genesis 38:20-30 ~ Justified or not, Tamar's immoral act almost cost her life. Pray very carefully before acting. Will God be there to guide you out?
As you read this passage you realize Tamar had a plan all along. I don't know if she thought about the consequences, but she had a plan. Did she pray about it? I don't know, but I do know that we need to pray about all of our plans, no matter how big or how small! God wants to be involved in everything of our lives and wants to bless us as His children.
God can take the hardest, most forsaken situation and make it beautiful! He can take the dirtiest, ugly and sinful life and make it new! He accepts us where we are! We need to ask forgiveness and He forgives. There may be and probably will be discipline involved, but our Heavenly Father loves us and will guide us each step of this earthly journey if we but let Him!
Is HE the Lord of your life? Are you seeking His counsel every day? Do you pray about every plan and ask for His will to be done? He is waiting and will be there for you - just reach out and trust!
Have a fantastic day!

Tuesday, June 26th - Genesis 38:12-19
Good Morning!
What a beautiful morning! However, I walked outside and found that half of my big shade tree has fallen! Guess I will have to get some friends and see if we can get it cut up! Anyone need some fire wood? :o) God protected us and the tree didn't hit anything but the ground. Praise God!
Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Genesis 38:12-19 ~ Tamar makes us wrestle with this: Is it justified to do something immoral to right a wrong? Keep in mind - God's Law had been broken.
This is a tough one! God's Law was broken and Tamar wanted to "make it right". Her husband was struck down and her brother-in-law was selfish and hadn't fulfilled the law either. Sleeping with Judah was her idea of "getting back" what was hers - a child. Is it right?
I can see both sides and probably argue for both as well. What are your thoughts? I would love to hear what you think. Comment and I will respond!

Monday, June 25th - Genesis 38:1-11
Good Morning!
The start of our work week - Monday! (at least for the majority) How do you feel? I would love to stay home and just enjoy the day, but I enjoy work too. My son is excited because he gets to start FCA (Fellowship of Christian Atheletes) tomorrow and he will play basketball everyday for a week! I love seeing the excitement in my kids and their enthusiasm to share their faith. I am so blessed!
Lisa's tweets: LMRMinistries: ~ Genesis 38: Meet Tamar. Before reading her story, read Deuteronomy 25:5-10 to understand the part in the Law that sets up everything that happens to her.
LMRMinistries: Genesis 38:1-11 ~ In the days when widows were completely helpless, Tamar needed her in-laws to protect her. Have you ever been let down by family?
The law was clear and Tamar was still left childless. Her brother-in-law Onan was selfish and that cost him his life. Tamar went to live in her father's house while waiting for the other brother-in-law to grow up, but that would not carry out the law. Tamar was in a tough situation and was treated badly by family.
I don't know how others feel, but when things happen within my family that are not the best, it seems to hurt worse. I have had friends that have hurt me, but when it is family - the hurt seems to go much deeper. I don't know what I would do without my close friends and other family to get through "life". God always provides just the right person to pray with me or talk over a cup of coffee or just sit with me. He sees and understands!
Did Tamar have someone to talk to or share her grief with at that time? Was she afraid to discuss with her own father and mother? I am sure she felt hurt!
People - Friends and family will let us down, but God will NEVER let us down. Look to Him for your strength and lean on Him and those that He gives you to physically see and talk to and share "life".
Have a wonderful day!

Sunday, June 24th- Genesis 39:19-23
Good Morning!
It's Sunday!!! I hope I get to see many of you in church this morning, but I know there are a lot on vacation! Either way, I pray today is the start of a wonderful week and that we will each embrace our calling to share the Good News with all that we encounter! Let's praise the Lord for His greatness, His grace and His love! We are His! We serve a risen Savior! Hallelujah! Praise God!
Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Genesis 39:19-23 ~ Is someone in your life causing problems for you? Like Joseph, trust that God will work justice on your behalf.
Joseph had God on his side! If you look in verse 23 it says, "...because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did."
God was with him just as He is with us! Joseph wasn't perfect, but he knew that God was with him and he served the Lord with all that he was. Potipher's wife caused many problems for Joseph and when she found out that Joseph was not going to give her what she wanted, she lied and had him thrown in prison.
Some times it is hard to see how situations will work out in the end, but God is still present and will work justice on our behalf! However, we have to do our part as well! We have to follow and serve our mighty God and know that He has our best interest in mind. Walk in His ways and He will lead us HOME!
I read a quote from Max Lucado yesterday that was good: "God's grace erases guilt, His oversight removes fear, His direction clarifies confusion."
Go today and feel free, unafraid and confident in where you will spend eternity!
God is good all the time - All the time God is good!
Have a great day!

Saturday, June 23rd - Genesis 39:11-18
Good Morning!
It is a beautiful day! I have a short list of things I want to get done today and plan to enjoy the day no matter waht comes my way. How about you? I have been blessed beyond measure and I will praise Him in all that I do!
Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Genesis 39:11-18 ~ Sin feeds sin: Potiphar's wife went from sexual sin to slander to lying. What's the root of your sin? Confess it before it controls you.
Potipher's wife was not going to give up before she got what she wanted from Joseph. One thing led to another and eventually she lied! That is the way that sin sometimes works in that one sin leads to another and another and.... I think that Potiphar's wife's sin started with "sexual desire". I will be the first to admit that I sometimes look at a man (actually more frequesntly in the summer at the pool) and see how handsome and easy on the eyes he might be, but it stops there. Potiphar's wife became obsessed with Joseph and his good looks and had to have him. She did everything she could to get joseph to go against his beliefs and sin and ended up taking it farther each time until she decided to lie about the whole thing, because she realized she couldn't have him.
Confess your sin to God and don't let it grow and take control.
There are a couple quotes that came across my desk this week that i want to share with you. I hope they help you gain perspective as they have me.
"This is the day the Lord has made. Don't load it with yesterday's regrets or tomorrow's troubles. Rejoice in the gift of today." Max Lucado
"Don't let yesterday's mistakes sabotage today's attitude. God's mercies are new every morning. Receive them!" Max Lucado
Have a blessed day!
