Saturday, February 18th - Psalm 143

Good Morning!

The first day of a long weekend for many.  The kids and I are taking advantage of the two days off school and going to see my folks.  It will be fun to spend some time with them and my sister's family.  Doing laundry and packing as I write!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 143 ~ A prayer of a person who understands to turn to God first thing every day for guidance.  Ask for it - then listen to the Holy Spirit.

I love the way the psalmist pours out his heart to God.  He says that his soul thirsts for Him like a parched land.  Does my soul thirst for Him?  I know there have been times in my life that I have felt that, but I want it to be more often.  I want to spend quality time with God daily and not just a short time of scripture and prayer.

Reread verses 7 through 10 and listen to the psalmist's words.  He asks and he listens!  He asks for guidance and for God to show him His unfailing love.  Verse 10 is really key:  "Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground."  May this be our prayer today and everyday!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Friday, February 17th - Isaiah 30:21

Happy Friday morning!

For some the weekend has begun, but others of us still have a day of work to put in before we start.  Do you have big plans for the long weekend?  At least the schools are out and the banks are closed Monday!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Isaiah 30:21 ~ When the Holy Spirit tells you "no to this" or "that's a good idea", He keeps you on a path that is good for you and glorifies Him.

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"  Isaiah 30:21

God thought of everything!  He knew we couldn't do life on our own and so He gave us a Helper, a Guide, a Spirit to lead the way!  As we listen, we will hear and know His promptings and He will keep us on the straight and narrow path.  We will bring glory to the Father in this way!

Listen - do you "hear" His still small voice?

Have a great day!  Happy Friday!!

Monday, February 13th - John 8:31-47

Good Evening!

It has been a good day!  I have all the Valentines done for school and I think we are ready for the big day!  :o)  I absolutely adore my little Valentines!  God has blessed me with such great kids!  I love them so much!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: John 8:31-47 ~ Jesus is talking about listening to His Word (vs. 37).  If you follow it, you will be free from a sinful lifestyle (vv. 32, 36).

"Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."  John 8:32  I love this verse.  Jesus talks about following Him and knowing Him.  He is Truth!  We know the Truth and He will set us free!
God's Word is true and it speaks to us if we but listen!  Are you listening?

Have a great evening!

Sunday, February 12th - Matthew 5:17-20

Good Sunday Morning!

It is a beautiful day and the sun is shining so bright!  How about in your life today - is the Son shining bright?  I hope so!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Matthew 5:17-20 ~ God speaks through the life and example of Jesus.  Here, Jesus tells us what He thinks of the Bible.  Live according to His Word.

Until God asks His Son to return to take us HOME, we are to live according to His Word!  The Bible will not change until everything is accomplished.  The Bible tells us of the Second Coming, when Jesus will return and take His Bride - the Church - HOME!!!  Maranatha!!!  Come Lord Jesus come!

Have a great Sunday!  See ya at church?  Hope so!  :o)

Saturday, February 11th - Psalm 19

Good Morning!

It was a very long night!  Between the wind and missing my daughter, I didn't get much sleep.  I did do some praying though!  :o)  It is definitely cold today and even my puppy didn't want to go outside!  It is going to be a great day though as "This is the day that HE has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!"

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 19 ~ Do you want to be wise?  Listen and obey what God speaks through His word (vs 7).  God also speaks through His creation (vv1-4).

I love verses 1 through 4 of Psalm 19.  God speaks through His Creation and everyone can understand.  The heavens declare His glory and proclaim the work of His Hands.  Their voice goes out into all the earth and there is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  God's Creation is everywhere and can be seen and heard everywhere.

I love to go out on my sister's dock early in the morning and drink my coffee and pray!  I pray with my eyes wide open as I take in God's beautiful Creation.  The water, the fish jumping out of the water, the clouds, the sunrise, the birds as they sing their morning song, the deer, the gentle breeze as it blows through the majestic trees and on and on.  He speaks through His Creation and it is awesome!

Read the rest of Psalm 19 and take note of the adverbs and what God's Word is - perfect, trustworthy, right, radiant, pure, sure, more precious than gold, sweeter than honey and more.
Verse 14 is my favorite:  "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Have a great day!

Friday, February 10th - Psalm 119:105,130

Good Evening!

It was a rather hectic morning as I got the kids ready for daycare and school and Derlani packed for an overnight at daycare!  It has been a long, but enjoyable evening as Nathaniel and I went to supper and then have been playing the Wii and missing Derlani.  We both really miss her tonight!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 119:105, 130 ~ God's Word is a light to follow in this dark, confusing world.  God speaks as you get in His presence by reading His Word.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105  "The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple."  Psalm 119:130

I learned verse 105 as a young camper at Little Galilee.  It is also part of the pledge to the Bible - "I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word; a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.  It's words will I hide in my heart, that I might not sin against God."

He does speak to us and guide us with His Word as we read it, memorize it and share it!  Are you listening?

Thursday, February 9th - Romans 10:17

Good Morning!

It's Thursday and I think I am going to be able to go to work and stay all day!  :o)  Derlani is feeling better and can go to daycare and Pre-K!  Praise His name!

Lisa's tweet:  LMRMinistries: Romans 10:17 ~ One way God speaks is through the Bible.  Do you believe in the fact that the Bible has the authority to tell you how to live?

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ."  Romans 10:17

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and it has everything we need to live as He has asked us to live.  We need to read it and follow it and listen for Him as we read.  He does speak through His Word.

Won't you listen?

Wednesday, February 8th - Romans 10:13-15

Good evening!

Derlani is feeling better and I think we are on the upswing!  :o)  I really don't like it when my kids are sick and I feel so helpless.  All I want to do is sit and hold them tight and rock and sing to them.  That's not always what they want though!  :o(  Anyway, I am glad she is feeling better.

Lisa's tweets: LMRMinistries: The next 2 weeks, we'll look at how God speaks to us through various ways.   LMRMinistries: Romans 10:13-15 ~ Belief in Jesus - PROOF that you can hear from God.  When you "heard" about Jesus, in prayer you called on Him and you are saved.

This is a passage I used when I was raising my support to go to the mission field in Portugal.  I sang a song that is called, "How Beautiful" and it used the phrase of verse 15 - ""How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

You have beautiful feet too!!  You can bring Good News to those who have not heard.  You can share your testimony with those you see and share that Jesus loves them and He died for them - share the Good News!!!

God speaks through His Word - LISTEN!!!

I read a quote today from Lysa TerKeurst:  "In whatever decision you are trying to make, ask yourself, 'Will this make me more able to be used by God, or less able?'"

Share the Good News and be used by the Almighty God as a missionary!

Tuesday, February 7th - 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

Good Morning!

I am home with my daughter today as she has a rather high fever and just doesn't feel good.  She just wants to cuddle and rest and she is so hot.  I hope she feels better soon as I don't like it when she or my son are sick.  She tries to smile, but just doesn't feel like it!  I feel so helpless!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 ~ Deep passage.  Builds on what we learned:  Christ died for us - we died to our old ways - we're a new creation designed to draw others.

I love this passage of Scripture.  Christ died for me - the old has gone and the new has come...I am Christ's Ambassador - used by God to share the Good News!  We are His Ambassadors!

I hope to see y'all tonight at GEMS, but we will see!  Have a great day!

Monday, February 6th - Romans 8:1-2

Good Morning!

It's Monday and the start of a new work week!  Who will you witness to today?  Pray for the opportunity to share with someone today!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 8:1-2 ~ We've all messed up.  Satan gets you to stay in the past so you can't move forward with God by condemning you.  Accept God's forgiveness.

There is NO condemnation if you are in Christ Jesus!  We are free and we are forgiven!  Hallelujah and Praise the Lord!!  Satan may try to hold us back and in the past, but we are on the winning side and have the victory in Jesus Christ!  We can look forward and move forward with HIS strength and guidance!

Accept God's forgiveness and then you can serve in ways you never thought possible!

Sunday, January 5th - Romans 6:14

Good Evening!

It has been a great day, but I am really tired this evening.  It is hard to believe that it is February and the weather is this mild.  This is probably one of my most favorite winters ever!  :o)  How about you?  However, my kids want snow!  Ugh!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 6:14 ~ The full circle of Christ's ability to deliver us from sin.  He is our graceful master, leading and keeping us free from our old sin.

It doesn't get any better than this!  We are saved by GRACE!  We don't deserve it, we didn't and couldn't buy it, but it was purchased for us with the blood of God's Son - Jesus Christ and now is offered to us through GRACE.

We are His and we are not slaves to sin anymore!

Praise the Lord from Whom all blessings flow!!!

Saturday, February 4th - Romans 6:13

Good Saturday Morning!

It isn't too bad outside, but is still pretty windy.  I woke up several times in the night and listened to the wind.  I laid there and thought of God's awesome power and His creation.  What are your plans for today?  I have a full day, but it will be a great day!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 6:13 ~ Offer yourself. Loving God that deeply, intimately, knowingly...that you offer yourself to Him.  It's a choice - how will you live?

"Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness."  Romans 6:13

There are lots of things that could be said about this passage, but the truth is simple - God bought us with a price - the death of His Son.  Jesus arose from the grave and brought new life - eternal life as He conquered death!  So, as we accept Jesus, God's Son, as our personal Lord and Savior and confess Him before others, we are brought from death to life!  We have the hope of eternal life with Him!
He asks for but one thing - our ALL!  Offer yourself to Him - offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.  He loves you and He will never forsake you!  Use your body for His glory and His Kingdom!  Share the Good News!!!

It is a choice!  I have made my choice and I will and have offered myself to Him and serve Him joyfully with all that I am.  What will you choose?  How will you live?

Have a great day?

Friday, February 3rd - Romans 6:12

Good Morning!

It's Friday!!!!  Let the weekend begin!  Oh wait, I have to go to work and then it can begin!  :o)  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  In whatever you do, I hope you have a great time and let your Jesus Shine!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 6:12 ~ Temptation still comes at Christians. "Do not let": We daily make the choice not to let sin reign.  Get your guard up to avoid falling.

"Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires."  Rom. 6:12

We are tempted everyday!  Do we fall sometimes?  Absolutely!  However, we realize and acknowledge our fall, our sin and confess it to the Father and move on, trying harder to live the life He has called us to live.  Keep your guard up!  Let the Holy Spirit guide and protect and help you!  We need to be strong and continue to grow in Him!
As we have talked before, we need to be in His Word and having a personal time with Him daily!  Prayer is so important!  Communicate with Him!  He longs to hear from us!

Take it day by day...on guard....on point....on task....on to Victory!
Have a great day!

Wednesday, February 1st - Romans 6:7

Good Morning!

It is the first day of February!  Wow!  The month of January has come and gone.  How did January go for you?  Did you accomplish what you set out to do?  I will admit, there were a few things I didn't get quite right, but I am continuing and will go forward.  Did you realize this is a leap year and we have 29 days in February?  Everyone with a birthday on the 29th will add seven years to their age!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 6:7 ~ When you make a commitment to "die" to your sinful ways, you are freed from a sinful lifestyle.  Any of your "old" self still around?

This verse is powerful!  Read the preceding verse:  "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin."  Romans 6:6,7

Remember reading in Galatians 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

We have died to our old selves because we have been "crucified" with Christ.  We now live in Him and through His Holy Spirit.  Ask for God to show you any "old" that is still hanging around.

Have a wonderful day!
