Monday, November 7th - Psalm 146

Good Morning!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 146: God is the help and hope of all, but He's especially tender to the poor and oppressed because society overlooks them.  Who can you help?

I love the first two verses of this Psalm.  A great way to start the day!  This whole psalm is full of praise and thanksgiving.  God IS our hope and our comfort and our all!  He IS everything!

Verse 9 is a great promise:  "The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow."  He cares for us and takes care of us!

I know there are several going through really tough times right now and they don't know how they are going to survive the next few months, but they know that their faith in God, our Provider will get them through and He will provide for their needs.  God is good all the time - all the time God is good!

I thank God for His Word that guides my path and allows me to communicate and know Him more.  "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live."

Have a great day!

Sunday, November 6th - Psalm 145

Good Morning!

I was so excited that it was lighter this morning when I got up!  I know it will get darker as winter arrives, but I will enjoy the earlier sunrise as it lasts!  :o)  Hope you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep, I did.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 145: God not only gives us what we need, but also - at times - what we desire.  That is NOT why we praise Him; that's why we thank Him.

This Psalm is a psalm of praise and thanksgiving!  Gos provides everything we need and then some!  He listens when we cry out and He comforts in times of stress and hurt.

The word praise, sing and celebrate are used eight times in this passage and the words exalt and extol are used four times.  Verse two says, "Everyday I will praise You and extol Your Name forever."  Daily!  Verse 3 continues and says that God is great and no one can fathom His greatness.  Verse four indicates that every generation will share with the next of God's majesty, His miracles, and His splendor.  Missions!

Look at the descriptions of God:  King, Great, Worthy of praise, Majestic, Gracious, Compassionate, Slow to anger, Rich in Love, Powerful, Good, Righteous, Mighty, Faithful, Provider, Trustworthy, Always Present, Truth, Protector, and Savior.
Wow!  And these are just a few!  We serve an awesome God.

Take time to re-read this Psalm and praise Him and thank Him for something personal to you at each verse.  Make it a song of praise to God and sing it to Him.  Praise God for who He is in your life.

"My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.  Let every creature praise His Holy Name forever and ever."  verse 21

Have a great day!

Saturday, November 5th - Psalm 144

Good Saturday Morning!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 144: At times we need God to rescue us - other times to protect us - still other times to prosper us.  Our lives change; He covers everything.

Change is inevitable, but God never changes!  He is the same yesterday - today - and forever!  We can rest in that promise and know that He takes care of us - His children!  He is all things to us - Father, Rescuer, Provider, Protector, Savior, Comforter, Confidant and Friend - just to name a few.

Remember that God cares about everything - the small things and the big things.  Lay it all at His feet and He will care for you!  Talk to Him about the changes in your life and decisions, big and small that you need to make.  Include Him in everything!

I hope you all enjoy this beautiful day!  God has really blessed us with a gorgeous day - sunshine and warmer temps!  We also get an extra hour of sleep tonight!  Yeah!!!

Have a great day!

Friday, November 4th - Psalm 143

Good Morning!

Happy Friday!  This has been a crazy week, but it is quickly coming to an end.  I am very excited about this weekend as we get an extra hour of sleep!  Yes, don't forget to turn your clocks back tomorrow night before going to bed.  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 143 v 8:Especially when we are hurting or depressed, it's vital to start our morning in God's Word.  The world can be scary.  God is love.

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul." verse 8
I know there are many that are not really morning people and like to have their quiet time with the Lord in the afternoon or evening.  I have always been a morning person and early riser, so it is the best time for me.  The important thing is that you are in the Word of God reading, learning and praying daily.

God will show you the way you should go. He is always ready to spend time with you.  Verse 6 hit me where it said: "I spread my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land."  I want to thirst for God and for His Word.
God will walk with us every step of this life! (vs 10)  He loves us and wants a daily relationship, communion with us.
Starting off the day with His Word and some prayer time is great!  You should give it a try if you don't already!  He is waiting.....

Have a blessed day!

Thursday, November 3rd - Psalm 142

Good Evening!

I hope you have had a good day!  Even though it is raining and windy outside, the Son is shining inside!  Are you letting Him shine through you?  I hope so!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 142: We all long for a "safe" place to share our feelings, and we look for good people who will listen.  God is the Ultimate safe place.

Who do you share with when you have had an awesome experience and need to tell someone?  Who do you tell when you are not feeling the best about a situation and just need to "talk it out"?  When something has affected you so deeply, who do you call?
We all have best friends or family members or mentors that we can share these things with and they will laugh with us, cry with us and even question us at times.  How much more do you think God would enjoy sharing these times with you?  As Lisa said, HE is the Ultimate safe place, the Ultimate listener and He knows which way to lead!

I have experienced this a couple times just this week.  I met with a friend and we talked and shared together and then we prayed.  That was the most important time, as we laid our discussion and thoughts and plans at His feet!  It was awesome.  The second time was just last night and my heart was "heavy" and I called my friend and she listened and gave godly advice and I hung up and I prayed!  I shared my thought and my feeling with Him and felt so much better.  I know my friend prayed too and that is what it is to feel safe and to share with others, but share it all with God!

Don't leave God out!  He is waiting and is ready to listen and to share your good and bad - let Him!  Reread Psalm 142, paying special attention to verses 1,2 ,3, and 5.  God is waiting!

Have a great evening!

Wednesday, November 2nd - Psalm 141

Good Evening,

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 141: "Set a guard over my mouth - keep watch over the door of my lips".  Uh, yeah: turns out we're not supposed to say everything we think.

David had a relationship with God.  He depended on Him for everything and he discussed everything with Him through prayer.  He asked Him to teach him and to hold him accountable.
Lisa's reference to verse 3 is so important.  Our tongues can praise and destroy.  Go back and read the first chapter of James.  We need to keep a tight rein on our tongues.  We can't just say whatever comes to mind and probably shouldn't even been thinking the words.

God listens and answers us!  Be sure to have that personal relationship with Him that you stop and listen and know that He is with you and speaking to you through His Word, through other Christians, and through prayer.

"Be still and know that I am God".  Let's listen more than we speak!

Tuesday, November 1st - Psalm 140

Good Evening,

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 140:  You can ask God to "get" those who have wronged you - but once you have vented to Him, let it go and TRUST that God will work justice.

We are to take everything to the Lord - the big and the small.  How many times do we say we don't want to bother Him with the small stuff.  It amazes me how many times I give it up to the Lord after discussing where I failed and what I could have done better, and in a little bit come and take it back!

We need to TRUST that He will take care of every little, medium and big thing that we bring into His presence.  He cares about us and He loves us!

"God is good all the time - All the time God is good!"

Remember:  T R U S T!
