Tuesday, January 31st - Romans 6:1-14

Good evening!

It has been a long day!  I apologize for not getting this posted earlier.  Hope y'all had a good day!

Lisa's tweets: LMRMinistries: Romans 6:1-14 ~ For the next few days, we are going to take a look at how Christ helps us defeat sin by studying this passage in chunks.
LMRMinistries: Romans 6:1-2 ~ Why do we keep sinning?  There is a difference between sinning and living a sinful lifestyle.  Sin = you want to repent and change.
LMRMinistries:  In a sinful lifestyle, you think it's your right to keep sinning.  Jesus DIED FOR YOUR SINS.  Did you die to your old ways at your baptism?

This passage is titled:  Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ!  That pretty much says it all!  Jesus came to pay the ultimate price for us, our salvation, with His life!  HE DIED for MY sins, for YOUR sins.  He gave Himself as a sacrifice for us.

We died to sin when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  Did we die to our old ways or do we still hold on to things of our past?  Ask yourself:  Did I die to my old ways at my baptism?

Monday, January 30th - Day of Reflection

Good evening!

I am still just so emotional about yesterday.  I wrote a friend today and told her how I felt and she said she was the same way.  It is so exciting and amazing!  To God be the glory great things He has done!  Wow!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: DAY OF REFLECTION:  God's timing is perfect. Jump ahead of Him, and you short circuit what God has for you.  Pray:  Ask God to teach you His plan.

Honestly pray for God to show you His plan for your life.  His timing is perfect!  He wants to bless you above and beyond your wildest dreams.   Pray and listen!

Sunday, January 29th - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

Good Evening!

What an amazing day!  I am so very proud of my church family tonight and overwhelmed by God's goodness!  Pastor Shadrach and his wife Violet were in church this morning and the GO Night this evening.  He is from Kenya and working in the Mitumba slum in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa.  This is the place, that on November 19th, that someone ordered the bull dozers to go in and level the whole slum - 30,000+ people.  Pastor Shadrach has been working there and they took down the houses, the school, the orphanage (35 children) and the church.
Eastview had partnered with Pastor Shadrach, GOYA and REM in July and then this happened.  Yesterday, Mike Baker said we were going to take a special offering to help rebuild the Mitumba Community and said our goal was $40,000.  Well, last night at the mission night, Tyler Hari announced that we didn't meet the $40,000, but had given $196,000!!!
Needless to say, everyone was crying and overjoyed at God's people and the blessing and outpouring of His love through this offering.  God is good!  His plans are perfect!  Praises to our awesome God!  I love my God; I love His Church; and I love my church family at ECC!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 ~ You can do what you want with your body, but if Jesus is your Savior - show the world He is your Lord!  Honor Him by your choices.

We are called to be holy and to take care of our bodies and to live a holy life.  WE make the choice!  God has given us everything and even a helper in the Holy Spirit.  We can make the choice to honor Him with our bodies and with everything that we are!  Pray before you make decisions and choices.  Let Him lead you in every decision you make.  Honor Him by those choices.

Saturday, January 28th - 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

Good afternoon!

What a beautiful day!  I woke up early this morning to the sound of shoveling and driveway clearing!  As the sun came up it was like a winter wonderland.  It was beautiful!  Our puppy even liked it!  And the temperature is rising and I am very happy!  Happy Saturday everyone!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 ~ "How do I know what I'm supposed to do as a Christian?"  Read the Bible:  He clearly says how to live in a way that pleases Him.

As you read the two verses in first Thessalonians, you see that we can find all the instruction and answers we need in the Scripture - the Bible!  God has given us a guide book and we just need to read it and follow the steps in order to please God.  It matters not the situation, there is an answer in God's Word.

The instruction we are given in the Bible is with God's authority and that of the Lord Jesus.  In verse 1 we are encouraged, as was the church at Thessolonica, to live more and more in the way to please God.  We can do it!  We have the Holy Spirit to help us each step of he way.

We can do this!  :o)  Have a great Saturday!

Friday, January 27th - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Good Morning!

Happy Friday!  It is going to be a great day!  What do you have planned for today?  I am going to work and then have an evening with the kids!  Can't wait.  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ~ God loved you enough to BUY you.  Do you feel that loved - even if no other person ever puts his/her arms around you?

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body."  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Wow, does this ever make me think!  My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!  God gave Him to me as a Guide and Helper and He lives within me!  God bought me with a huge price - His Son - Jesus Christ!  I NEED to honor God with my body!
I realize we have been talking about sexual things and relationships between a man and woman and how God designed sex for marriage, but look at this verse again.  "...your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit...honor God with your body."  This is not just talking about sex!  What about eating, drugs, lack of exercise, sleep, etc.
This hits hard with me as I know that I have not taken as good of care of my physical body as I have my spiritual body - Bible Study, prayer, serving the King of Kings, etc.  I am trying to change that and take better care of myself and lose weight and exercise more.  Will you join me?  One step at a time.

Remember, honor God with our bodies!

Happy Friday!  Enjoy your day!

Thursday, January 26th - 1 Corinthians 6:13-18

Good Morning!

I took the puppy out early this morning and it is "warm" again!  I am not real sure how our bodies can adjust to this type of weather - warm - cold - warm - extremely cold - etc.  I love the warmer temperatures, but my kids want some snow this winter.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Corinthians 6:13-18 ~ Why God tells us to save sex for marriage:  When we sin sexually, we sin against ourselves.  That sacred space is for your spouse.

Verse 15 - "Did you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself?..."  Verse 17 - "But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit."
Sex was created by God for marriage.  As Lisa indicated - that sacred space is for your spouse.  Save yourself for marriage and do it God's way!

Commit or recommit to purity!

Have a great day!

Wednesday, January 25th - 1 Corinthians 6:12, 10:23-24

Good Morning!

Wasn't GEMS great last night?  Lisa really brought it home!  I had a lot to think about when I was listening and after returning home.  I stayed up quite late and did some real soul searching.  How about you?

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Corinthians 6:12, 10:23-24 ~ You can do whatever you want, but the FULL truth is, some things are not good for you.  Ask God to help you remove them.

"Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial.  "Everything is permissible for me" --but I will not be mastered by anything."  1 Corinthians 6:12
"Everything is permissible" --but not everything is beneficial.  "Everything is permissible" --but not everything is constructive.  Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others."  1 Corinthians 10:23-24

I think these verses are pretty clear.  As Lisa said, we can do whatever we want, but it isn't always good for us or beneficial.  We need to follow the instructions that God has given us and live to please Him.  God has given us everything we need and we need to follow Him!

As Lisa tweeted, Ask God to remove those things that are not beneficial or constructive in your day to day life.  He will provide the strength to change and to say NO.

Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday, January 24th - Luke 6:27-36

Good Morning!

I can't wait until tonight when I can see all of you at GEMS!  It is going to be a great night.  Are you coming?  I hope so!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Luke 6:27-36/ The foundation of how to live with all the others in your life.  Be merciful and love everyone...even if they are unlovable.

Is it easy for you to love everyone?  I have to admit that it is difficult for me at times.  Especially if it is someone that attacks a family member or a close friend with words or action.  My human side says:  Go get 'em and doesn't in anyway love them!
I had a friend that once said, "God says you have to love them, but not like them!"  :o)  In a small way this carries a little truth.  It is easier to dislike the words and actions of the person, but still love them because God loves them.

Did you notice verse 31 in our passage?  That is what we call the Golden Rule:  "Do to others as you would have them do to you."  This is the first step in loving everyone!  If you think about this before you do anything, it makes it easier to love the unlovable!

I will do my best!

See y'all tonight!

Monday, January 23rd - Leviticus 19:17

Good Evening!

Sorry I am later today, but it has been one of those Monday's!  :o)  The kids didn't want to get up, I forgot my badge for work and my phone, I had meetings all day and...  Oh well, I was blessed even in the stress!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Leviticus 19:17/ Speaking the "truth" to your acquaintances may require that you set aside being "popular" or "in".  Pray before doing it!

This is tough sometimes.  We definitely need to pray before talking or speaking to our neighbor.  God will provide the words and courage to do so!  Yes, we may have to stand "alone", but remember that we are never alone - HE is always with us!  God gave us the Holy Spirit to be our guide!

Be brave and speak the truth!  Remember to pray!

Have a great evening!

Sunday, January 22nd - Proverbs 27:6, 27:9, 27:17

Good Afternoon!

What a day it has been so far.  Great service at church and serving in the Nursery third service was fun!  I just wish more would step up to serve in the second and third services.  Can you?

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 27:6, 27:9, 27:17 / Fav truth about being a friend - Speak the truth IN LOVE.  Can you speak that truth - can you receive it from your friends?

I really hope that I do this, but I know there have been times when I haven't received the truth very well!  I am sure there have been times that I haven't spoken it in love either.  How about you?

If we read the verses mentioned in today's Bible reading, we see that a true friend will do anything to encourage and help another friend.  They tell us the tough stuff and do it in love, because they care and they do love us.  How do we receive it?  How do we tell it?
There have been times when I did what I thought was right in God's eyes after praying long and hard, and ended up being very hurt and losing friends.  I am happy to say, that after time and lots of praying, most of those friends are back in my life and we are stronger because of it.
I have been on the receiving end as well and know that my first reaction was not Christ-like, but after praying and seeking His guidance, I accepted the truth and my friend and I are even better friends - sisters - today!  PTL!

Can you speak that truth - can you receive it?  Always give and take with lots of prayer!

Saturday, January 21st - Matthew 7:1-5

Good Morning!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Matthew 7:1-5 / Don't judge others.  It's easier to see how they're screwing up than deal with our own sin.  Ask for God's help to not be judgmental.

Is this hard for you?  I have to admit there have been times that I have judged people unfairly and at first glance.  God has always shown me the error of my ways and some of those that I first judged, are now some of my great friends.  :o)

He will hear and answer your prayers if you but ask!  Let's try not to judge others!  It may be hard, but we can do it with HIM!

Friday, January 20th - Proverbs 22:24-25

Happy Friday everyone!

I got up early to let the puppy out and found that it is really cold today.  However, it is going to be a great day!  "This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!"  Happy Friday!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 22:24-25 / Convert anger to prayer.  Your Lord should control your moods, not your friends or neighbors.  You ALLOW yourself to get angry.

Do you get angry easily?  Are you hot tempered?  I have to admit that I used to be a little hot-tempered.  When I was in high school I had a pretty bad temper, but learned to control it and even change internally.  It was not without a lot of encouragement from a couple dear friends and lots of prayer.

What Lisa mentioned in her tweet is so true!  WE allow ourselves to get angry or lose our temper!  Pray with me that we will let the Lord control our moods!  Let's give Him full control!

Have a great day!

Thursday, January 19th - Romans 13:9-10

Good Evening!

This time last night I was sitting at the Peoria Civic Center Arena with three others, enjoying the Harlem Globetrotters.  We had so much fun and laughed and made lots of memories.  Taking time out to spend time with friends and family is the best!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 13:9-10 / In at least 10 places, the Bible tells us to "Love our neighbor"-- a commandment, not a suggestion.  It's a sin not to love others.

Love your neighbor!  That is really tough at times, but completely doable with God's help!  We can't do it on our own, but He gives us everything we need to carry His commands through!

Continue to pray that God will show you who He wants you to "love".  A co-worker, a teacher, an actual neighbor, etc.  He will give you everything you need!

Have a great evening!

Wednesday, January 18th - Proverbs 17:17

Good Morning!

Well, the kids go back to school today and just maybe we can get back to a regular schedule.  Although we will have a late night tonight as we are going to a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game.  Should be a fun evening!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 17:17 / A friend CHOOSES to love her friends even when the friend acts out like a clown.  Choose love - ask the Holy Spirit to show you how.

I am sure that all of us have a best friend that we would do anything for, no matter the cost.  I have a couple of friends like that and I would do anything for them.  There are times when I wonder, but, yes, I would do just about anything.
That is what God asks us to do - to love our friends, even if they act like clowns.  CHOOSE to love them!  It may not be easy, but it is what God has asked us to do.

Continue to pray and ask God to show you who and how and He will provide the strength!

Have a good day!

Tuesday, January 17th - Exodus 23:4-5

Good Morning!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Exodus 23:4-5 / If your neighbor is struggling, God says, "Be the bigger person - help him out - even if you don't like him".  Get your neighbor's back.

We are usually pretty quick to help a friend, but to do the same for a "neighbor"?  It is hard sometimes to live out what God asks, but it is totally worth the effort.  God never asks for more than we can do!  We may think so, but He always provides the strength and where-with-all to accomplish what He asks!

Will you be the bigger person?  Will you have your neighbor's back?

Have a great day!

Monday, January 16th - Proverbs 17:9, 18:24

Good Morning!

Happy Martin Luther King Day!  I am at home with the kids today, but will be at work tomorrow.  I can't believe they have two days off!  Seems like they just went back to school!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 17:9, 18:24 / Have your friend's back!  Often, you must choose not to let your friend's behavior get to you.  Convert irritation to prayer!

It is hard at times to not let a friend's behavior get to us, but we need to be there for them through thick and thin.  We need to always pray for our friends!  Take all that energy you are using being frustrated and turn it into a positive and pray for the friend or individual.  You will be surprised how much better you feel and what it does for your friendship!

Remember:  PRAY!!!

Sunday, January 15th - Psalm 15:1-3

Good Afternoon!

What a big day!  Three services at Eastview this morning!  What excitement!  It was great!  I went to 2nd service and served third service.  It was great!  The Lord definitely blessed this day!  Thank you Jesus!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 15:1-3 / It's easy to gossip about out "neighbors" when we are not thinking about it in a Godly way.  Ask God to show you when to be quiet.

How true is Lisa's tweet!  It is so easy to get caught up with gossip when we aren't relying on Him to guide our thoughts and our words!  Whew!  Please pray along with me that God will continue to show us when to speak and when to be quiet.

Have a great week and know that I am praying for each of you!

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Saturday, January 14th - Proverbs 11:13, 26:20, 22

Good Afternoon!

I think winter is here for a bit, but not sure if it is going to stay awhile or not.  I was out and about this morning and it would snow and then the sun would shine really bright and then snow and it was really cold!  Guess I won't complain though as I love all the seasons.  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 26:20,22/ Gossip kills.  If you're about to tell a person something & they are not a part of the problem or the solution, it's gossip.

It is so easy to gossip and it is something that we all need to watch and earnestly work at not doing!  As it says in verse 22, gossip hurts and the hurt goes deep.  Words can sometimes hurt worse than weapons.  Let's hold a tight reign on our tongue and not be a person guilty of gossip.  When we are tempted to "share" information with others that is not really our to share or not the right person - PRAY!

Have a great afternoon!
See you tomorrow?  I hope so!

Friday, January 13, 2012

Friday, January 13th - Proverbs 3:29

Good Morning!

I wasn't sure if we would have school this morning and so I let the kids stay up a little later last night and sleep in a little this morning.  It looks like it is going to be a great day, just a little cold!  High of 19 degrees?!?!  That's chilly and then add the wind chill to that!!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 3:29/ Being trustworthy to neighbors (all of those with whom you come in contact) = you make choices that will not harm others.  Commit to this.

What do you think of when you say or hear the word "neighbor"?  I realize we toughed on this on Wednesday, but I think it is important enough to re-visit.  So many believe that "neighbor" indicates the person or family that lives on either side of them and possibly stretching to the block.  Actually the way that God defines "neighbor" is anyone you come in contact with or interact with at any time!  Be it those that live near you, your co-workers, teachers, other parents, etc.

Are you trustworthy to your neighbors?  I hope so!

Have a great day!

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Thursday, January 12th - Proverbs 11:13, 25:19

Good Morning!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Proverbs 11:13, 25:19/ Be trustworthy as a friend, even when times get tough.  Be faithful - keep your friend's secrets when he/she confides in you.

Are you a good friend?  I don't know if everyone will agree with me, but friendship takes work.  It is hard work.  There is a lot of give and take, strength, courage, hurts and love.  It is sometimes hard to keep a secret to yourself when you think someone else needs to know so that they can "pray" or maybe give advice on how to handle the situation.

We NEED to be trustworthy!  We need our friends to know that we are able to keep their "secrets" and that we will stand in the gap for them.  We need to be there for our friends.

Have a great and blessed day!

Wednesday, January 11th - Luke 10:25-37

Good Morning!

What a great night we had last night getting back to GEMS!  There were some new faces and lots of returning GEMS!  We had a great time.  Be sure to check out the daily Bible Reading schedule here on the Blog!

Lisa's first tweet: LMRMinistries: For the next 2 weeks, we'll take a look at what the Bible says about being a good, Godly friend, and about how we should treat our neighbors.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Luke 10:25-37 / Who is my neighbor?  Think, pray, ask the Holy Spirit to show you who He needs you to reach out to and share His love with today.

Many know the story of the Good Samaritan, but do they really understand?  Who is my neighbor?  Is it the person that lives next door?
Actually, God defines our neighbor as anyone we interact with at anytime!  This would be the person or people next door, your co-workers, teachers and parents of your kids, etc.  Anyone with whom you interact!

Is that what you thought?  As Lisa indicated in her tweet (2nd one), let's pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show us who we need to reach out to this week and beyond.

Have a great Wednesday and get prepared for that nasty weather coming our way!  :o)

Tuesday, January 10th - 2 Corinthians 3:5

Good evening!

I am getting ready to go to GEMS in a few minutes and can't wait to see y'all!  It seems like months since we have been together, but it has only been three weeks.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 2 Corinthians 3:5 - We're nothing apart from God.  That's not a weak statement...it's a powerful acknowledgement of where our power comes from.

I know that I can do very little without God!  If I try and do things on my own power, I fall on my face most every time!  God provides my power and strength.  I serve Him and Him alone!  I will acknowledge that I am nothing without Him!

See y'all in a bit!

Monday, January 9th - Psalm 18:30-36

Good Evening!

A little later today as I had several things going this morning before work and also over-slept!  Ugh!  Guess I needed the extra fifteen minutes, but it put me behind.  Oh well!  At least Nathaniel is going to school!  PTL!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 18:30-36: Notice - the writer (David) credits every good thing that happens in his life to God's power.  We are great because He is great.

Read the passage and pick out all that God does for us!  His way is perfect!  His Word is flawless!  He is our shield!  He arms us with strength!  Makes our feet like those of deer!  He trains us for battle!  His right hand sustains us and He makes us great because He is Great!

Our God loves us and He will always take care of us!  We serve an awesome God!

Hope your day was great and tomorrow will be even better!

Rest in Him!

Sunday, January 8th - John 3:30

Good Morning!

Well, I am writing this a little later this morning as I have a sick boy at home!  I hope rest and light meals will help.  I hate it when a child is sick.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: John 3:30 - For us to feel the most amazing we can feel, we do things less our way and more His way.  Then, our lives overflow with His power.

"He must become greater; I must become less."  John 3:30

Our God is GREAT!  John the Baptist knew Jesus and He knew that He was God's Son.  He preached about Him and that He would soon come and when He came, John knew that he would become less and Jesus would become greater.  Yet, John lived in victory and continued teaching and sharing the Good News to all he came in contact.  John was filled with His power and could courageously preach of Jesus!

If we can take a back seat and let God drive, we will have amazing lives!  Less of me and more of Him - that is my prayer!  May people see Jesus in me and not me!  I serve Him with all that I am!

Have a great day!

Saturday, January 7th - 2 Samuel 22:36

Good afternoon!

Whew!  Busy morning and afternoon!  We have our first Upwards basketball game this afternoon and I even get to officiate a game before our game.  Let's get some exercise!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 2 Samuel 22:36 - You are great because God makes you great.  Without Him, you may look great to others for a time - but that kind of greatness fades.

"You give me your shield of victory; you stoop down to make me great."  2 Samuel 22:36

If we follow His ways and His path, He will make us great!  He longs for a relationship with us and He will take care of us forever!

Turn to Him and He will come to you!  He will protect you and He will make you great!

Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow!

Friday, January 6th - Romans 8:31-39

Good Morning!

It is Friday!  We have made it through the first full week of 2012!  Yeah!  2012 is going to be a great year!  How about you - what do you think?

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Romans 8:31-39:  This is a fantastic passage, full of amazing truths about God.  I read this and just want to do a fist pump!  YEAH - GO God!

I love this passage too!  Especially verses 38 and 39!  NOTHING can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!  Hallelujah!  Praise His Name!

Reread this passage and stop and pray after each verse.  Claim His truth and know that He is on your side!  "If God is for us, who can be against us?"  vs. 31b

Happy Friday!

Thursday, January 5th - Psalm 118:6-7

Good Morning!

Can you believe it is suppose to get to 48 degrees today?  What's up?  Don't get me wrong, as I will take every warmer day we have, but it just seems a little strange for January.  Anyway, enjoy!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 118:6-7: It's easy to feel afraid of "man" (other people) when you focus on them. When you feel afraid, pray - then watch what God does.

"The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?  The Lord is with me; he is my helper; I will look in triumph on my enemies."  Psalm 118:6-7

What a promise!  God is with me - with us - every step of our journey through this life!  Praises be to the God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!  Prayer is our communication line with God!  Use it!  He hears and answers us.  Maybe not always in the way we desire, but He does answer.

My son is a true example to me in this regard.  If he is scared or if we are in an unfamiliar situation, he is the first to say, "Mom, let's pray!  God will know what to do!"  We pray and both of us feel better and know we are fine!

As you go through your day, and may feel a little uneasy - PRAY!  See what God does and the way you feel.

Have a blessed day!

Wednesday, January 4th - Psalm 27

Good Morning!

Winter Break is over and we are back to school today!  The kids are up and ready to go!  I think they are ready to go back and see their school friends!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Psalm 27: If God is for me, who can be against me?  I know He hears - I trust He is answering in ways that are for my best and for His glory.

Whom shall I fear?  This is a great Psalm of encouragement and affirmation.  Look at the descriptions of the Lord - "my Light and my Salvation"; "stronghold of my life"; "He will keep me safe"; and "the Lord will receive me".  He is for us and who could be against us?

Look at verse 4 and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.  Sing and make music to the Lord.  In verse 8 we are asked to Seek His Face - can you do that?  Seek His face and ask that He teach you His ways.  Walk with Him, talk with Him and know that He is always with you!

Tuesday, January 3rd - Isaiah 40:29-31

Good Afternoon!

Sorry I am a little later today, but Unit 5 is still out on Winter Break and I had to take the day off work to stay with my son.  I let them sleep in and we ran some errands and I am just now getting around to the Blog.  Sorry!

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Isaiah 40:29-31: A beautiful picture - God knows that there are times we need His strength and power.  When things are hard, hope in the Lord.

This is one of my favorite passages of the entire Old Testament.  I have a Bible Cover with verse 31 written on it, I have several book-marks with the passage and I have had it memorized since I was a child.
It brings such encouragement and peace and hope when I need it and I simply recite it to myself and feel calm and peaceful.  I know Who is in control and from Whom my strength comes from.  In Him I place my hope!

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."  Isaiah 40:29-31

This passage took on a whole new meaning when I became a Mom at the age of 43 and then again at the age of 49!  Whew!  However, He has never let me down and has provided the strength and stamina I need to raise my children.  They are gifts from Him and I count it an honor that He has entrusted them to my keeping and I am their Mommy!

Our hope is in the Lord!  We will run and not grow weary - walk and not faint!
Let's soar!!!

Have a great evening!

Monday, January 2nd - Ephesians 3:16-20

Good Morning!

How fast weather can change!  I didn't sleep very well last night as the wind was so strong and noisy!  I let the puppy out early and it was really cold too!  I guess I shouldn't expect anything less for the 2nd day of January!  :o)
We are celebrating a birthday in our house today!  My daughter is five years old today!  What a blessing she is to our family!  I am sure there are some special surprises happening today!  :o)

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Ephesians 3:16-20: The Holy Spirit is God's empowering force Who gives us strength to do this life.  He will do more than you could ask or imagine.

This passage has been turned into song by several Christian artists.  Can you hear a tune as you read?  How wide - how long - how high - how deep - is the love of Christ?  Can you grasp that?  As we join together with our sisters and brothers in Christ we might begin to understand and be filled with that same love!  It says that we might be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God!  That is hard to comprehend or understand, but I accept it as the truth and I am grateful!  The Holy Spirit gives us that love, that strength, that knowledge to carry us through.  I give Him glory and praise!

Let us face the day with courage and know that we have God's empowering force within us to provide the strength that we need.

Have a great day!

Sunday, January 1st, 2012 - Philippians 4:13

Happy New Year!

2012 is here!  What changes are you going to make this year?  The beginning of a new year is always a good time for reflection and planning!  I have done some of that today and plan to do some more before the day is over.  What about you?

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: Philippians 4:13 - Happy New Year!  Commit to living 2012 in the strength and power of God, and He'll give you strength to do it.

"I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

This is a short, but powerful verse.  If we live for Christ, He gives us the strength to face anything!  It may not be easy, but we will be victorious!  God will provide the strength and power that we need.

Let's do our best in 2012 to live according to His Word and promises!

Happy New Year!  2012!!
