Wednesday, August 29th - 1 Samuel 1:1-8

Good Morning!

Please pray for all those that are affected with Hurricane Isaac this morning.  It started late last night and there are over 438,000 people/families without electricity all through Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Lisa's tweet: LMRMinistries: 1 Samuel 1:1-8 ~ In a day where no kids = failure, Peninnah rubbed Hannah's face in her lack of a child.  Don't brag about the gifts God gives you!

Peninnah was a naughty little woman!  She really took part in childish games and adult feeling of jealousy.  The story is the same in that Elkanah loved Hannah more and always gave her more after the sacrifices.  Pinannah saw this and took it out on Hannah.  Year after year after year and Hannah was weary and hurt and frustrated.  She wept and wouldn't eat and her husband asked why as he didn't understand.  His last question shows he does not understand how Hannah felt - "Don't I mean more to you than ten sons?"

Have you ever felt hurt or distraught because of another bragging?  It is not a good feeling. God can get us through those times and even though we hurt, He can heal.  It may not be in the way we think or desire, but it happens and then as we look back we can see His Hand in it all.  On the other side of the coin, we need to refrain from the bragging about anything.  That is not how God wants His children to act.  Being thankful for the blessings of your children or other things that God has blessed you with is different than bragging about them.
Be careful!

"Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."  Isaiah 40:30,31

Go and soar today!  Love y'all!
